Earlier this year, the U.S. Department of Labor reported a jobless rate of 11.2% for veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan up 4 percentage points from the same time a year earlier. (At the time, the rate for non-veterans was 8.8% now its 10.2%.)Those numbers arent encouraging, but a survey conducted by CareerBuilder.com last spring uncovered some hope for military veterans 43% of employers stated that if they were to have two equally qualified candidates, they would be mora likely to hire the person with military experience.
